The Oko Farms Clothing Restoration Project Presents:

COTTON GIN & SPIN CLUB (PRACTICE-BASED CLASS SERIES)

Additional 2-Hour Sessions: Tuesdays @ 10AM - 12PM &/OR 1PM - 3PM from October 10 - October 31 (required minimum of 4 sessions, and up to as many as 7!),

Become a part of Oko Farms’ Clothing Restoration Project. Join us in learning the slow craft of processing cotton by hand. Together as beginners, we will use traditional methods and tools to gin and spin the fiber into yarn. Participants will be be guided through the process by Kenn Pann, a textile artist and an Oko Farms’ Artist in Residence. Kenn is part of our Clothing Restoration Project which includes fiber and natural dye cultivation + processing. As part of the project, they have taught them self the processing of ginning and spinning cotton.

This is a weekly class series! We are looking for a dedicated group of folks who are committed to learning and practicing on a regular basis. '

The series will begin with a mandatory introduction on Tuesday, October 10 {10:00AM - 1:00PM}. Participants will sign up for a required minimum of 4, and as many as 7, additional 2-hour practice sessions. We welcome anyone to apply, there is no prior experience necessary. Please fill out the registration questionnaire for our team to learn more about you, why you're interested, and to confirm your availability.

Due to limitations on equipment and space on the farm, there will be slots for about 6-8 people to participate in each class. The contact email you provide will be how we reach back out to you in order to confirm your attendance. This is the first time we are creating this offering and ask for patience while we do our best to organize, accommodate, and communicate!
